Colon cancer is as bad a curse as any you know. Imagine having troubles with the whole of your digestive system, gradually losing it to a tumor; that’s the bad part. The worst part is that it continues to grow like all other cancers. All of a sudden, other parts of your body and insides are infected.

In the United Kingdom, close to twenty thousand deaths are recoded from colorectal cancer almost every year. All over the world, the number actually rises to more than a half million. It shows how deadly the disease is. But the good news is that it's not as much a killer disease as it was in the past. Solutions now exist that can help to keep people alive, even after being diagnosed.

Treating colorectal cancer is never an easy process. Diagnosis is first made using a colonoscopy to tell how badly infected you are before the doctor begins to treat. Oftentimes they begin with a surgery, and then they go into other processes that they might deem necessary. But the good news is that death can be prevented or delayed even when you have colon cancer. It’s no longer an INSTANT death sentence, as it used to be in the past.

There are a lot of processes through which a colorectal cancer can be diagnosed. However, the most common process is known as a colonoscopy. It often provides all the information the doctor needs to know before you are treated.

Colon cancer can be a killer if not detected early. However, there are several new techniques that have been developed over time that greatly improve the ability to detect the malady. Once you can catch it, you have at least a chance of surviving the condition.

Funny how a disease in your… er, bowels could make you to lose all your hairs. Unlikely? Well, you are wrong too. The doctor mostly needs chemotherapy to top off all your colon cancer treatment. And chemotherapy causes you to lose your hairs. But isn't it better to just lose your hair and still survive the condition?

Colon cancer accounts for nothing short of a hundred thousand new cancer cases each year. This figure was released by the American Cancer Society. Most of these cases could have survived it if they were caught early enough. Indeed, up to eighty percent of these victims get to survive it. Those that do not are mostly those who were too casual about it.

The Canadian Cancer Society oversees cancer situations and records each year in Canada. In the United States, the American Cancer Society does the same. Canada records each year, about 20,000 new cases of colorectal cancer, while the US records a hundred thousand.
