Although brownies are a tasty dessert that can be found almost everywhere from specialty stores to bakeries nowadays, brownies were once very hard to locate at the dawn of the 20th century. Certain places online have reports that brownies were first baked in the United States of America, but it wasn't until the early 1900s when brownies were made with the use of smaller cake pans.The pan brownie, one of America’s favorite baked snacks, was began in the United States, although no one is quite certain of exactly where. Most evidence suggests that it is likely the New England part of the Us at the early years of the 20th century. Although resembling a cake and prepared in a cake pan, it is classified as a bar cookie more so than a cake. There are thousands of recipes, both "cake" style and "fudge" style. The moniker was given in honor to the elfin characters that had been featured in popular book.While the first recipes for brownies were published and different variations began to evolve around the first years of the 20th century, it wasn’t until the Roaring twenties for the brownie to emerge as the country’s absolute favorite baked chocolate treat, a position it , without rival still has and maintains today.
