N scale is the second most popular gauge of model trains in the world. N is 1:160 to 1:150 scale.
The name N is created from the fact that its 1:160 scale is almost half that of HO scale which was the smallest of the series of older and larger 0, 1, 2 and 3 scales introduced by Marklin around 1900. N gauge was introduced from Arnold the german manufacturer in the 60's.
